The National Dairy Council of Ireland gets us banned from saying one of our all-time favourite things to say.

If you happened to be walking the streets of Dublin back in January 2023, you may have been amused with some of our ads featuring a certain LINE WE CAN NO LONGER MENTION EVER AGAIN IN IRELAND.

Turns out The National Dairy Council of Ireland were not amused with the LINE WE CAN NO LONGER MENTION EVER AGAIN IN IRELAND and submitted a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) who just partly upheld one of the complaints banning us from using the LINE WE CAN NO LONGER MENTION EVER AGAIN IN IRELAND.

Just to be clear, we still believe in the LINE WE CAN NO LONGER MENTION EVER AGAIN IN IRELAND but of course we fully respect the ruling. In case you’d like to make up your own mind about the LINE WE CAN NO LONGER MENTION EVER AGAIN IN IRELAND we’ve attached the complete transcript of the ASAI ruling against the LINE WE CAN NO LONGER MENTION EVER AGAIN IN IRELAND along with our official response to the final ruling against the LINE WE CAN NO LONGER MENTION EVER AGAIN IN IRELAND in December 2023:

Bryan Carroll, General Manager of Oatly UK & Ireland, said:

“At Oatly, we believe that shoppers are entitled to a choice beyond cow’s milk and we, and the planet, don’t owe big dairy a monopoly position in our lives. We are reassured that the ASAI agreed with us in part; that oat drink can be used for the same purpose as cow’s milk and dairy alternatives are a recognized and nutritious addition to any diet.

We know not everyone is going to like what we do, or how we say it, and that’s an inevitable consequence of challenging the status quo. So, to save everyone some time – including the National Dairy Council of Ireland - we’ve laid out the most controversial things we’ve done as a company in one place. Love us or hate us after reading feck-oatly.com, you can have a free oat coffee on us at selected coffee shops in Dublin all this week.”
